Unpaid Affiliation

To ensure that the department complies with regulations regarding data access for non-salaried affiliated individuals, an unpaid affiliation must be accompanied by an affiliation agreement.

The affiliation agreement is created on the basis of an online application, in which an AU-employed sponsor approves the affiliation.

Framework for an Affiliation Agreement

  • An affiliation may be granted for a maximum of one year at a time.
  • The affiliation provides access to a PURE profile and a university email account, if desired.
    • An unpaid affiliation no longer provides access to the Royal Danish Library's e-resources.
  • The affiliation also allows access to work with data on AU's network drives.
  • All access rights, including email access, will automatically expire the day after the last day of the affiliation agreement.

Who can act as sponsor?

Employees with a salaried position at the department with whom you collaborate, and who will act as your contact person and mentor. Please check with your department who can or should serve as a sponsor in your unit—some units have designated sponsors.

What if I need an affiliation for more than one year?

If you need to be affiliated for more than one year, you must submit a new application before your initial period expires in order to obtain an updated affiliation agreement for the new period. You will receive an email notification one month before your affiliation expires.

Apply for an Unpaid Affiliation

You apply for an unpaid affiliation using this online application form. In the application, you must specify your sponsor, including their AU email address, as well as the local secretary who will handle the registration.

If you have any questions about the process, please contact affiliation@clin.au.dk.

If your department does not have a designated secretary, you may list Pernille Brink Csösz (pbc@clin.au.dk) as the secretary.
