Unpaid affiliation

To ensure that the department adheres to the rules regarding access to data for unpaid affiliates, an unpaid affiliation must be accompanied by an affiliation agreement.

The affiliation agreement is based on an online application where an AU employed sponsor approves the application.

Scope of the agreement

  • You can have an unpaid affiliation for a maximum of 1 year at a time.
  • The affiliation grants access to Pure and a university email if you choose.
    • An unpaid affiliation is no longer sufficient for accessing the Library’s E-resources.
  • The affiliation also ensures the possibility to work on data on AU’s network drives.

Who can be a sponsor

Employees at the Department of Clinical Medicine from your department/unit who can vouch for you and confirm that you need an unpaid affiliation. Make sure to ask in your department/unit who can act as a sponsor – as some have decided who it needs to be.

What if I need to be affiliated for more than 1 year?

If you need to be affiliated for more that one year, you need to re-apply for a new affiliation agreement before the current one expires – and by doing so get a new affiliation agreement. You will get an email a month before your affiliation expires.

The application

You need to fill out the online application form. In the application you need to list your sponsor with her/his university email address – as well as your local secretary who will make the affiliation in the system. If you don’t know who that is – or if you don’t have a local secretary, you can list Pernille Brink Csösz, pbc@clin.au.dk as the secretary.
